AUDIOMETRY

  • Audiometry is the testing of a person’s ability to hear or the degree of hearing various sounds at different frequencies. This is a regulatory requirement for all factory workers prone to noise.
  • Staff who require Audiometric testing include, Personnel working in the area of noise exposure levels exceeding 85 dB, this may be done as part of a routine screening or in response to a noticeable loss of hearing and can also be done as a regulatory measure on annual bases.
  • At Medbury Medical Services, we understand the challenges associated with on-site Audiometric testing which includes proper assessment of the environment noise level and the chances of getting a quiet room for screening, especially in the manufacturing plants. The regulations state that the testing room should be sited away from sources of noise, such as toilets, traffic, office areas, etc. Noise can be measured to ensure noise levels do not exceed 35dB
  • When we cannot get a room with a 35dB noise level, our Audiometer headsets are fitted with Audiocups with a noise attenuation of 24 dB. And we also provide Mobile Audio booths for screening
  • Our Audiometry testing meets all regulatory requirements for Hearing Conservation Programs and we provide year-on-year analysis to compare deviations in hearing from Normal so that companies can be proactive in hearing preservation for their staff

Our Audiometry testing meets all regulatory requirements for Hearing Conservation Programs and we provide year-on-year analysis to compare.

SPIROMETRY

  • Spirometry is also known as pulmonary function tests. It measures lung function and an individual’s capacity to breathe effectively, specifically the amount and/or speed of air that can be inhaled and exhaled.
  • Spirometry is helpful in assessing breathing patterns to diagnose conditions that have affected the lungs such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, and COPD.
  • The value of a spirometry test is compromised when testing is conducted incorrectly, equipment is inaccurate, or results are misinterpreted. Medbury has fully certified and trained personnel to conduct Spirometry tests even on your site.
  • Our Spirometers undergo daily checks; daily and annual calibrations to ensure they are in good working condition.
