What is a Panic Attack?

A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear or anxiety and physical symptoms, based on a perceived threat rather than imminent danger.  You should avoid caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and recreational drugs that may help relieve fear and anxiety. If you get a panic attack, it usually lasts 20 to 30 minutes, hitting its peak at about 10 minutes. Get regular sleep and exercise.
