Know Your Numbers Campaign 2019 – The History We Made

On the 17th of May 2019, Medbury Medical Services made global history as we celebrated WHO’s World Hypertension Day themed ‘KNOW YOUR NUMBERS’. The campaign sought to create awareness about the necessity for every individual to know their ‘body’ numbers, most especially pertaining to Blood Pressure, in a bid to ensure that they take full charge of their health and take imperative action when necessary.

During this event the Medbury team:

1. Toured over 18 companies within 24 hours(A first of its kind campaign in Africa history)
2. Screened over 1,000 Nigerian workers for hypertension.
3. Identified and managed hundreds of workers with dangerously elevated blood pressure (workers heading for hypertensive complications if not for our intervention)
4. Educated over 1,000 people on the dangers of hypertension, its prevention and management.
5. Distributed over 1,000 Medbury ‘I KNOW MY NUMBERS’ Cards to aid individual follow up and long term commitment to blood pressure checking (a first of its kind in Africa’s history).

The Medbury #KnowYourNumbers campaign was an event that sought to raise awareness on the serious, life-altering consequences of uncontrolled high blood pressure, and motivate people to work with their doctor on developing and committing to a treatment plan to manage their blood pressure whether at home or in the workplace.

At Medbury, we believe of all the things we can do right now to reduce heart disease, strokes, and other debilitating disease, controlling blood pressure is one thing that has tremendous potential to save lives and improve well-being.
